Chassis Kits & Plans

For those drag racers with the ability and persistence to build a race car from scratch, a Mark Williams “kit car” is certainly the way to start the process.  While MW no longer sells the "kits", we still sell all of the components, blueprints, and bill of materials for them. Prints and bill of material sheets are available for either front or rear engine dragster and funny car/altered configurations.  Each kit has been engineered to provide both race-winning performance and incomparable safety.  Since their introduction, MW kit cars have proven to be very competitive in various classes ranging from Econo Altered to Alcohol dragsters. One MW kit car even has won a World Championship. Experienced racers will tell you that there’s a lot more to a tube-chassis car than meets the eye. That’s why often times one car “works” better than another even though they may appear to be similar.  It’s the subtle differences that count and MW gives you the winning advantage.  

Component and materials lists for each MW chassis kit are shown on the following webpages.  These lists include all of the tubing and bends necessary to build a basic chassis.  All tubing requires cutting and fitting.  All Mark Williams chassis prints are produced on a color plotter using heavy weight paper that won’t fade over time like blueprints will.  This ensures a high quality, long lasting, and easy to read set of prints. Other components such as axles, brakes, thirdmember, etc. required to complete a “rolling chassis” that fits your exact needs can be found elsewhere on this site.

Top Dragster type Chromoly chassis designed with solid mounted 92000 MW modular 9” aluminum housing. This chassis is to be constructed with the 11” Modular rear.  Plans include a bill of materials list. Parts list include: Steering hardware with rack and pinion box, engine mounting plates, and all of the pre bent and straight tubing. NOTE: Supercharged applications will require a full floater housing.

4-LINK ENGINE DRAGSTER KIT

Chromoly chassis with unique mono-shock rear suspension and MW modular 12 bolt  housing with billet aluminum 4-link brackets.  Plans include bill of materials list. Parts list include: monoshock rocker shaft and arms, 4-link and wishbone kits, complete steering with rack and pinion box, engine mounting plates and all the pre bent  and straight tubing.

FRONT ENGINE DRAGSTER KIT

Chromoly chassis with 92000 MW modular 9” aluminum housing.  Recommended for front engine dragsters (6.29 and quicker). Plans include bill of materials list. Parts list include: modular housing, steering with standard box, engine mounting plates, and all of the pre bent  and straight tubing to build a basic chassis.  NOTE: Supercharged applications will require a full floater housing.

FUNNY CAR/ALTERED KIT

Chromoly chassis utilizing the 92000 MW modular 9” or 11” Modular aluminum housing.  Bill of materials include: Spindles and linkage for standard box, engine mounting plates and all the pre bent and straight tubing to build a basic Funny Car or Altered chassis.  NOTE: Supercharged applications will require a full floater housing.
