The C2 and C3 Corvettes’ differential comes factory with a 17-spline inner flange yoke that can be prone to failure. This super strong 300M version has the spline updated to a stronger 30-tooth involute profile, using a standard Corvette posi-traction that is modified by slightly increasing the bore size and using a 30-spline axle gear that is common to the 12-bolt GM posi-traction units. With this change, a standard GM c-clip is used to retain the yoke shafts.
This Corvette Rear Axle Kit is for the C2 and C3 (Circa: 1963-1982) Corvettes that originally have 17-spline axles. This kit replaces the wheel flange axle, universal joint flange, and the 4-bolt u-joint flange on the tubular rear axle drive shaft. The spline on the axle is increased to a more modern 31-spline with a 1.333” major diameter.
Many owners have chosen to upgrade the rear by modifying a stock Corvette case to use a GM 12-Bolt Posi and gear, but some of these systems still use the cast bolt-on universal flange yoke. These one-piece, super strong 300M inner yoke shafts eliminate the bolt connection and significantly increase the strength and quality.

This is a fix for the C4 (1988 - 1996) Corvette rear hub shaft/yoke that is prone to failure. We have increased the spline to 32-tooth, and upgraded the material to an aircraft alloy steel. Then, we through-harden them for maximum strength.
